Easy way to get your Banjo Tension Hoop Level!
I thought I had the Tension Hoop on my Osborne Krako level.
This gauge told me I had it “pretty” level, but helped me get the Tension Hoop “very” level.
The video shows the “before” readings.
The gauge works on 11” and 12” Tension Hoops. It may work on other sizes, too. These two sizes are the only ones I’ve tested it on so far.
The “slot” through the gauge is radiused, plus clearance, to make sure it lands on top of the Tension Hoop, so you don’t have to adjust the location. It locates it for you.
The base of the gauge has finger grooves to make it easy to hold onto.
A tension hook with 8-26 threads will .038 with one full turn. Knowing that it’s pretty easy to adjust the height.
I have them in black or white. I can make it in your favorite color. Just ask!
I’ve used the best gauge I could find. There are cheaper ones but I think this is the best one out there.
I’ll include the gauge’s original packaging so you can register the warranty.
If you ever take the gauge itself out of the carrier, please remember to pull the rod all the way back. There is a chance the rod can be bent if you don’t.
Note: If the top of your Tension Hoop is below the top of the head, this will not work for you. I can make a special one for you that will reach below the head, but it wouldn’t locate the gauge for you. If there is a demand for this type of gauge I’ll add it to the page.
